Your personal information disclosed to Heartland is for the purposes of maintaining your account with Heartland. We know that the security of your personal information is paramount to gaining and maintaining your trust.
Heartland collects some information that may be personal (i.e., information that identifies an individual either alone or in combination with other data). Heartland also collects non-personal information that does not, on its own, identify an individual person. Any information you give us is held with the utmost care and security, and will not be used in ways to which you have not consented. We will not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13) and, if we learn that we have inadvertently collected such personal information without proper consent, we will immediately delete that data from our database.
When Heartland provides services, we automatically place you on our list to receive e-mail regarding updates about special offers, new products, and new services. If you do not wish to receive e-mail updates, please send an e-mail to [email protected] and type “remove” in the subject line.
Heartland Secures Your Private Information
Heartland will not collect any personal information from you except when specifically and knowingly provided by you to create an account and perform transactions with Heartland, or when required by law (for example, the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act). Heartland may disclose personal information to those who help it provide products and services, including those who perform technical, administrative and data processing tasks such as hosting, fulfillment, and data storage and security. These service providers are prohibited from using this personal information for any other purpose.
Heartland will not otherwise disclose your personal information to law enforcement, other government officials, or other third-parties without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except when we believe in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss, to report suspected illegal activity, or as required by law.
Heartland may share non-personal aggregate, or summary, information regarding its customers with partners or other third parties, but Heartland does not sell or share any information at the individual customer level. Your IP address is maintained for administrative and technical purposes only.

Heartland Use of Software Tracking
Heartland may use “cookies” or “clear gifs” to improve our services and measure the effectiveness of certain communications and marketing.
Heartland may also utilize a software technology called “clear gifs” (a.k.a. Web Beacons), that manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. These tiny graphics possess a unique identifier, similar in function to “Cookies,” and are used to track the online movements of users. In contrast to “Cookies,” which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customer’s personal information. Rather, we may use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients.
Heartland uses analytics solutions including Google Analytics to collect anonymous data about your interactions with our website. The information gathered allows us to improve our website and your customer experience. You can opt-out of allowing Heartland to collect this information via Google Analytics by visiting https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO HAVE “COOKIES” PLACED ON YOUR COMPUTER, YOU SHOULD ADJUST THE CORRESPONDING SETTING IN YOUR BROWSER TO REFUSE “COOKIES” BEFORE ACCESSING THE WEBSITE, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT CERTAIN OF THE SERVICES AND CERTAIN FEATURES OF THE WEBSITE MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY WITHOUT THE AID OF “COOKIES.” IF YOU REFUSE “COOKIES,” SOME OF HEARTLAND’S WEB SITE FEATURES WILL BE DISABLED OR NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, AND YOU WILL ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RESULTING LOSS OF FUNCTIONALITY.
